You have heard the word most likely before – Sales Funnel – everyone is raving about their sales funnel these days. But you have asked yourself – what is a sales funnel? Why would I want a sales funnel? And if I would want a sales funnel, how do I get one?

A sales funnel is a marketing term that relates to the buyer journey, meaning getting potential clients to become a buyer. Nurturing that lead to drive them to make a purchase:

You try to get visitors to visit yourwebsite by creating awareness to your brand.

This offer could be any of these things:

  1. Blog Article
  2. YouTube video
  3. Podcast
  4. Interviews
  5. Audio Files

These are also called ‘no risk offers’ because they don’t require the visitor to give you anything in exchange.

People who are interested in your ‘no risk offers’ have the options to accept a ‘low risk offer’ from you, giving you their email address in exchange for something. This something could be any of these items:

  1. E-books
  2. Workbooks
  3. Templates
  4. Reports
  5. White Papers
  6. Guides
  7. Resources

When they accept your ‘low risk offer’ by giving you their email address, you are moving them along into the second phase of the funnel into the Building Trust Phase. Visually this looks like this:

Now that they are getting to know you through the newsletter you are going to send them regularly and you offer continuously content that is beneficial to them. This makes your visitor become you tribe, and when you offer your product to them, by dropping them through the last part of the funnel, converting your visitors into customers through Call-to-actions via your website and your newsletter.

This is why it is important to have a goal in min when you setup your website or re-vamp your current site when you want to start selling your product or services.

Setting up a good sales funnel will help your visitor move from interested to happy customer and will help you set a goal for your website that you can measure as performance.

Now, how to setup a simple sales funnel goal for your basic website? Here are a few sample strategies:

4: Produce an audio, video lesson or webinar to sell your service or product.

2- Build Brand Awareness (through newsletter content, blog posts etc)

3- Gain their trust and provide a solution to their problem, proving you are the best choice

4- Get them to contact your or make a purchase or whatever fulfills the goal of your sales funnel
